Bikes4UOnline is very excited to have the opportunity to help you in your interest and knowledge about bikes. The main purpose of Bikes4UOnline is to make that experience as enjoyable and understandable as possible. In today’s crazy unstable condition, each choice we make needs to be done with care and certainty. The choices and options are so great that it is hard to know what to do, how to do it and when to do it. Hopefully this site will be of great help in making your decision about the bike you are interested in from the many options that are offered by Bikes4UOnline.

Choosing the right bike for the purpose or activity you will be doing is very important. There are many different types of bikes on the market today. You have mountain bikes, comfort bikes, hardtail bikes, BMX bikes, Beach bikes, Hybrid bikes and the list goes on. Some actually are a combination of two different bikes. And then there are mens mountain bikes, womens bikes, bikes for children, beginner bikes, youth bikes, and more. Determine what way you will use the bike and then research to find the bike to fit the purpose you need. One of the more popular styles of bike is the mountain bike. Your choice will depend on whether you choose to become an out-and-out racer, or simply enjoy this outdoor pursuit for leisure and relaxation.

There are many terms used for bikes. Basically, a bicycle, bike, or cycle is a pedal-driven, human-powered vehicle with two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. A person who rides a bicycle is called a cyclist or a bicyclist. Bicycles were introduced in the 19th century and now number over one billion worldwide and continue to have an ever increasing demand. In fact, their sales are twice as great as automobiles. They are the principal means of transportation in many regions. They also provide a popular form of recreation, and have been adapted for such uses as children’s toys, adult fitness, military and police applications, courier services, and competitive sports. The invention of the bicycle has had an enormous impact on society, both in terms of culture and of advancing modern industrial usage and continues to do so even today.

Before you buy a bike you need to decide which style it is that you prefer. For example; mens mountain bikes are generally made using lightweight materials, and they have advanced brakes, gears and suspension systems. Bicycles can be divided into four categories based on the suspension system pf the bike. These systems are as follows: Hard Tail, which is a frame with only front suspension. Soft Tail, which is a frame with only rear suspension. Dual or Full Suspension, which is a frame with both front and rear suspension. or Fully Rigid, which is a frame with either fixed rear suspension or no suspension. There are a lot of different bike brands out there and it is easy to get all caught up in all the different bikes that you see. So you need to find one that feels right for you that is within your budget.

The next thing to consider is obviously your safety. You will want to protect your head with a good helmet. Try on a wide range of helmets and find one that fits you well and feels comfortable to wear. Other safety equipment may include shin guards which are great if you do a bit more extreme riding and find yourself constantly slamming your shins on your pedals. You may also want some gloves to protect your hands. A good idea is to carry a well stocked first aid kit along with you for the ride. You never know when you will need something in the kit after a possible fall. It is always good to have just in case. Having some snacks and water is also a must. Water especially. Doing riding can take a lot out of you and replenishing yourself with some water to avoid dehydration is imperative. As you can see, just a little planning ahead and making sure that you have all the right equipment will go a long way into making sure you are safe and enjoy your bike ride to the fullest.

Some basic information is helpful in understanding how to chose the right bike for you. There’s no standard among bike brands as to how they measure. Some do one thing and others do a different thing. Just give yourself three to five inches of stand over clearance to get in the right ballpark. The best thing you can do is review the size chart in another article on this blog.

One method to help in determining the proper frame size for you is the following. To determine your proper frame size, you’ll first need to get an accurate inseam measurement . Stand with your back against a wall, with your bare feet 6″ apart on a hard floor, looking straight ahead. Place a book or ruler between your legs with one edge against the wall, and pull it up firmly into your crotch, simulating the pressure of your saddle while riding. Now, have a helper measure from the top edge of the book to the floor, in centimeters or inches.(You can convert inches to centimeters by multiplying inches by 2.54.) Frame size refers to the length of the frame’s seat tube.

Do not confuse frame size with wheel size. To get a better understanding of each, review the size charts on this blog that will help you in determining what will be the best for you. For example, someone 6′0″would probably want a 19″ or 20″ frame. Be sure that the bike you want is available with a choice of frame sizes. You may even want to go to a bicycle shop and try a few of them. Even if you purchase your bike from Bikes4UOnline, the owner will still be able to assist you with many other things for bikes. Most bikes are referred to by their wheel size, which also come in many different sizes with different tires and accessories. Getting the right sized frame with the right tires (wheel size) is going to make a lot of difference to your enjoyment of cycling. What you need to understand is that your bike has to fit you just like your clothes. There is not a “one size fits all” if you want to have the best riding enjoyment possible. If the bike that you get doesn’t bring you a comfortable ride that you enjoy, then your cycling days will be short lived and the pleasure and benefits of cycling will be lost.

There are many other factors to consider in choosing the type of bike you want. These would include brakes; front wheel or rear wheel or both, suspension; dual, single or none, tires; rough terrain, knobby, smooth, narrow, wide, fat or thin, types of frame; gears; single speed or many configurations in multiple gears, and more. There are new products coming out all the time. You can have a customized bike to your personal taste if you like. Remember, biking can be a very enjoyable event daily or casually, it can be a great method of building physical strength and cardio endurance or be just a time for fun, and it will definitely help reduce the pollution and improve the environment we all live in. So enjoy the event and share it with those you love. Bikes4UOnline expresses our thanks in helping make your cycling much more enjoyable and fun.

•The helmet should fit squarely on the head. The front of the helmet should be low on the brow to protect the forehead and stay on in case of a crash.

•The padding in the helmet should exert a firm, uniform pressure all around the head. It should allow the skin of the forehead to still move as you turn the helmet from left to right and from front to back. It should not be so tight as to be uncomfortable though.

•Make sure the harness or strap is correctly adjusted. If it isn’t, the helmet may slip or be knocked off when hit.

•The front and rear straps should form a “Y” just below and forward of the ears.

•There can be NO slack when the chin strap is fastened.

•DO NOT wear the helmet tipped back on your head. It is much more likely to pop off and not protect your head if there is an accident.

•The chin strap should be buckled securely at the throat all the time when you are riding.

By taking these simple precautions and following the instructions that come with your helmet you will have a far greater change of being protected and safe if you are in an accident. Remember, chin strap snug against your throat, helmet level over the brow and uniform pressure all the head.
